The travelling dress, Lethbridge Alberta

The Travelling dress, Lethbridge Alberta.

Taking part of a travelling dress collective with some of the most incredible local photographers was a little intimidating. Especially when it meant I had to turn my art into prints and hang them in a professional gallery, as well as go to an opening gala, with my prints hanging next to the work of said mind blowingly talented photographers. It was a project that took nearly a year to bring to fruition, but it feels so good now that it is here.

Lets take a moment to talk about the shoot itself.
I had planned for sunshine/sunset. But in typical Southern Alberta weather, It was pouring buckets and so cold (not to mention the glacier water I had her LAY in…….). I wrapped my camera up in a plastic bag, crossed my fingers and away we went. The entire shoot start to finished lasted maybe 20 minutes but it was absolute gold. I wish we could have stayed out there for hours like planned but the truth is, we couldn’t have created what we did with a sunny day.

My concept.
A beautiful bride, left at the altar. In dismay, she feels as she is drowning.

The talent.
Emily of Petal and Stem took my floral inspiration and nailed it completely.
Tamara of Tamara Martin Makeup obviously killed it.
Victoria Kapcsos blew me away on Taryn’s hair
Jocelyn of Home Range Goods helped me set up the entire table set while she was pregnant IN THE RAIN, oh and she drove 6 hours total to help me out. GODSEND.
Taryn Sailer was my beautiful model, she was perfect.

Now for the goods.

Thank you for taking the time to check out these images. I am looking forward to next years Travelling dress collaboration. Special thank you to Lorelei Hoffarth, Jackie Standing, and Shannon Bos for putting together this event, the dedication these ladies have is one of a kind. The collection will be on display at Mortar and Brick in Lethbridge until February 29th, 2020.

xx,

Ashley
